Dizziness/Vertigo Therapy Based on the IVRT Concept

Dizziness can have many causes – from the vestibular organ in the inner ear, to head–eye coordination, to body perception and the sensory system. With the IVRT concept (Integrated Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy), we specifically identify which system is affected and what is triggering the dizziness.

Typical symptoms:

  • Vertigo when lying down or getting up (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, BPPV)
  • Unsteadiness or swaying dizziness, with or without balance disturbances
  • Sudden vertigo attacks, sometimes accompanied by headaches
  • Blurred vision or unsteadiness when walking, especially during fast movements
  • Difficulties in the dark or on uneven ground
  • Dizziness after a fall or concussion
  • Chronic dizziness without a clear cause

Our goal:

Through targeted assessment, we determine whether the vestibular organ, body perception (muscles, joints, skin), or the visual system is involved. This allows us to offer a tailored therapy plan.

Therapy & Training:

  • Repositioning maneuvers for the treatment of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV)
  • Balance training for the vestibular system
  • Exercises for proprioceptive input from muscles, joints, and skin
  • Visual training to improve eye movements and gaze stabilization

This way, we can specifically address everyday challenges – whether walking, shifting gaze, or making quick changes in direction.
